The Guardsman’s Watch K3 in DLC coated matt black
The timing functions of the watch are designed to reflect the behaviour of the guard when performing the guard duty. Every quarter on the dial is divided into a black and a red zone. The black zones indicate when the guardsman is to patrol and the red zone when to be stationary.
The rotating bezel can also be used as a secondary timing function. To set the feature the bezel is turned until it is aligned with the minute hand allowing the elapsed time, up to 60 minutes to be read on the bezel.
The 2 hour (active) shift timetable is located on the bezel. This indication works together with the hour hand and indicates the two hours the Royal Life Guard is on 'active' duty. Whenever the Royal Life Guard is guarding one of the royal palaces, they remain on duty for 2 hours followed by 4 hours of rest / standby. This shift runs for a 24 hour period. The shift period can either start at 12.00, 14.00 or 16.00. In order to use the 2 hour timetable, the guardsman simply has to turn the bezel so that the red dot is pointing to the time his shift starts and then he has his 24 hour schedule.
The Guardsman’s Watch K3 has cases that are manufactured using 316L stainless steel which is among the toughest in the world. This strong, high grade of steel is extremely resistant to corrosion from seawater and acidic liquids whilst also being antimagnetic. With its high resistance to indentations and pitting this steel is perfectly tough for extreme professional use and for a watch built to last the test of time.
The bezel is made out of 316L DLC coated stainless steel with clear white luminous markers.
Sapphire glass is second in hardness only to diamonds. This means it is incredibly scratch resistant and hard wearing.
The screw down winding crown is made to ensure maximum water / dust resistance for your Guardsman’s Watch.

The Guardsman’s Watch K3 has Swiss Super-Luminova on the dials and hands, making the time features visible in the dark. This is chargeable with sunlight or artificial light and is mixed with a binder to provide night legibility.
The Guardsman’s Watch K3 meets the international (ISO764) of Anti-magnetic standard. This ensures that the watch is fully functional when exposed to magnetic current up to ISO 764. This proves the watch is safe to be worn near electrical equipment and other currents that may occur with heavy machinery.
The Guardsman’s Watch K3 has a Swiss made quartz movement RONDA 715 Li. which is fitted with a 3V lithium battery (lifetime 10 years) and 5 jewels for increased precision. The main parts are covered in gold to ensure metal durability. The movement comes with the EOL – End Of Life – function, signaling the end of life of the battery by a four-second leap of the second hand. This warning gives a few weeks to change the battery.
The Guardsman’s Watch K3 is delivered in a specially designed presentation box.
The ‘Hacking’ function is a historic military function for military personnel, enabling them to synchronize their watches before going on a mission. For the Royal Life Guards this is a very useful function before starting guard duty, to ensure that everyone is operating on the exact same time. To enable the hacking function, the guardsmen stop the second hand of their watch at the exact same time, by using the winding crown, and re-engaging the watch collectively, thereby synchronizing several watches to the exact same time.
